Ritual: Surrendering To Energy In 10 Easy Steps

Surrendering does not mean to give up or to submit when we talk of surrendering to the flow of energy. There is strength in the act of surrendering to the flow when you align and respond to the flow rather than work against it. In martial arts, like Tai Chi, a master has the ability to receive the energy of the opponent and redirect that energy away from them without loosing balance or wasting any of their own energy. When surrendering to the flow of energy, you will learn to receive the energy the universe is directing towards you and then redirect that energy towards the very things you choose to manifest into being.

  1. Create a Sacred Space with the intent to work with the flow of energy.

  2. Sit or stand while keeping both feet flat on the ground and approximately hip width apart. Think of this as planting your roots deep in the earth (grounding your energy).

  3. Keeping your back as straight as possible, bending knees slightly if standing, hold out your hands in front of you like you are holding onto a ball.

  4. Pause and allow yourself to experience this as a glowing ball of energy between your hands.

  5. Bring your right hand to the top of the energy ball and your left hand to the bottom and then shifting your weight slightly from side to side, switch your hands from top to bottom.

  6. Be very present in your body specifically concentrating on your hands and the ball of energy glowing stronger. As you do this you may experience tingling and heat in your palms. This is similar to the heat experienced in Reiki energy work.

  7. Allow yourself to dive into the various aspects of your life that may be offering you challenges. Explore your relationships, career, health, spiritual growth, etc. As you do this, look at each challenge as its own ball of energy.

  8. Allow the ball in your hands to receive this new ball of energy and watch the ball in your hands change color. Push it out and pull it back in to the ball as if you were playing a game. Observe how you do not struggle with this. You are able to push and pull with no change in your stance and no change in your own energy. You do not need to resist the challenges being offered to you. You are fully capable of absorbing it all.

  9. Finally, when you are ready, transmute the ball with all of the challenging energy into pure, creative, simple, beautiful energy. Visualize the ball changing into a soft golden white light as you raise your hands above your head and then allow the ball to shower the energy down upon you bathing you in the light. Surrender yourself into acceptance that whatever it is that is offering this challenge, is doing it FOR you and not To you. Your strength and resilience is offering you this opportunity of transformation that you may be a stronger, more beautiful version of yourself.

  10. Close your Sacred Space.

This ritual can be used daily or as needed when you are working through a particular challenge you wish to address. It can also be used to work through multiple challenges by repeating steps 7-9 until you are ready for 10. Rituals are for you to adapt and make your own. The most important thing about a ritual is that you find it helpful and an aid for your own person growth.
